Nourishing & comforting food bundles for new parents

delivered across the uk

The Food Doula provides bundles of nourishing and comforting, home-cooked dishes for new parents, so they can spend more time bonding with their new bundle. We also send food in other times of change, going back to work, illness or moving house for example. A food hug when the ebbs and flows of life result in us needing a bit of extra support.

All our food is personally sourced, with free range, grass-fed meats and high- quality seasonal vegetables, because we believe that ingredients that are taken care of, take better care of you! Every wonderfully nourishing dish is prepared and immediately frozen, locking in nutrients, to be enjoyed whenever parents need them most!

Welcoming a new baby is a magical time but blooming (*pregnancy pun*) hard! Days will be taken up soothing, singing, and swaying. Cups of tea will go cold and meals (if you get to them) will likely happen hours after you intended. The result is that the people who most need and deserve a good meal, may survive on toast, takeaways or random fridge face plant concoctions for longer than desirable!

The dishes included in our bundles are focussed upon providing carefully balanced nutritious meals with a dollop of indulgence. Our mission is to support new parents at a time when nourishing their body and minds can all too easily fall by the wayside.

Treat yourselves or gift a loving, functional and delicious package to your partner,  friends, family or colleagues.

HOW it works

Vouchers are available in the shop. If gifting,  we would always recommend buying a voucher as it’s the easiest way to ensure the recipient will redeem the voucher and place an order when its suitable for them to receive the delivery. Due dates and knowing when all will be settled at home can be a little unpredictable!

If you want to get ahead with baby arrival admin/ nesting you could get yourself a voucher. When your ready for the food  and know you will be home, decide which bundle tickles your fancy and simply pop in that voucher code rather than attempting to locate a debit card while your safely glued to the sofa mid feeding frenzy!

Alternatively wait until you are ready to order a bundle. Simply head to the shop page on the website and choose from our various bundle options!

It’s really important that someone is there to receive our delivery of frozen food, to avoid spoilage.

Orders placed before 12pm on Saturdays can be delivered that coming week. Bundles are delivered on Wednesdays and Thursdays across the UK. Some weeks however, there may be only one available delivery day, some weeks there may be three available delivery days. When you get to the checkout you can select your delivery day from available options. The Food Doula is currently a one woman, small kitchen show. As the business grows so will the capacity to deliver to you on more days each week. Thank you for understanding.

We deliver by courier and our food is packaged frozen in sustainable and recyclable sheeps wool lining and ice packs allowing the food to stay frozen until it is received and promptly placed in the freezer your delivery day.

All our packaging is re-usable and recyclable. Head to our Who Else (suppliers page) for more information on this.

Farmers Choice stamp.jpg

Farmers choice are a family run business based in Hampshire. They are an online Farmers Market of sorts supplying restaurants, businesses and households with Grass Fed and Free Range Meat, Fish and high quality Vegetables and Dairy that can be delivered straight to your door. They source their produce from local farmers across the South Downs, Hampshire and the Isle Of Wight. These farms ensure their meat, and dairy have been produced in a way that has respect for the animal, respect for the farmer and respect for the landscape. We believe that ingredients that are taken care of , take better care of you and the health of your gut.

Nipper and co organic tea

We have partnered up with Nipper and Co tea, which is included in all of our bundles. Nipper and Co focus on the importance of recovery after birth and nurturing the amazing mum who is navigating the early days. Marina, the founder, mixes the tradition of herbal teas from her home country of Croatia with her knowledge as a trained agronomist (the study of using plants for food). The organic blends are carefully created to support mothers and their growing families. Our favourites are the ‘wake up brew’, ‘green supreme’ and ‘calm tummy’- a fennel blend which you can even use on your tiny one to aid their digestion!

woolcool packaging

Your food will arrive in Woolcool’s reusable, recyclable, sustainable cardboard boxes with sheeps wool liners and ice packs. 100% felted sheep’s wool which is washed in a natural process, scoured then sealed within recyclable industry grade micro-perforated polyethylene wrap.Wool is one of the most sustainable natural materials, being available in abundance as a by-product of rearing sheep. The wool insulation is totally compostable and biodegradable, releasing valuable nitrates back into the soil. Some creative examples of how to re use the liners are (remove wool from covering) : Protect plants in colder months, create pet bedding, insulating pipes, wooly sheep costume for a nativity, composted, nesting material for birds, a natural way of reducing slugs on your veg patch. Ice packs can be re-used, stick them back in freezer!
